What is a Career Change Dog? Our professional trainers carefully select our dogs by evaluating them for temperament, health and eagerness to please. They are rescued from shelters where they are at risk for euthanasia. They enter a rigorous training program to become Hearing Dogs for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Not all of our outstanding dogs can meet the demands of becoming a Certified Assistance Dog, thus the need for a "Career Change". They are, however, still winners, and make wonderful pets. Many are already housebroken and some know basic obedience commands. In short, these "near misses" make wonderful companions. We can help match you with a lifelong canine companion.

Sofia

Sofia is a one year old, healthy French Bulldog.  She weighs approximately 25 lbs of solid muscle.

She is friendly and active but settles down nicely in the house.  She loves people and children and other dogs.  She loves to chase shadows on a sunny day and she loves to play with toys and/or other dogs when it is cloudy.  Because she needs to run and chase without pulling on a leash, she will need a home with a securely fenced yard. Apartment living isn't quite the right fit for her energetic personality.

She is smart and affectionate and overall easy to live with.  She had surgery to help with her sinuses but still snorts and can get overly excited easily.  Please fill out our online application if you would like to meet her.

If you live within 50 miles of our facility in Malibu and would like to be considered as a potential adopter, please fill out our online application.
